China's visa policies change frequently. The quickest way to check your situation is the built-in Check Your Visa tool, on the Before You Go page under Essentials.
- Open Essentials → Before You Go.
- Click the Check Your Visa button.
- Select your nationality and answer a couple of quick questions — the tool tells you whether you can enter visa-free, need a visa in advance, or qualify for a port visa.
